Solo Project

This motion project aims to animate a roughly one minute long clip, using a clip from “TheFutur” podcast, interviewing Charli Marie about starting your own business online. The problem we were trying to solve was making this audio clip constantly moving and flowing between scenes to make every frame visually interesting and with good craft. Research for this project focused on finding the audio clip, and analyzing the different components of the clip. Finding the matching color schemes, breaking down the words into nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs, and creating “chapters” were all critical in the design process. The big challenge that was encountered was the transitions between scenes. Since this is a back and forth conversation, the color schemes must match the person speaking, meaning the colors needed to be flipped to match which forced some creative decisions to be made to make the concept consistent. This challenge was overcome by incorporating multiple scene change techniques like zooming in and out, falling animations, and more.

The final animation successfully brought energy and clarity to the podcast clip, keeping viewers engaged throughout. It demonstrated how motion design principles can enhance spoken content and make abstract ideas more accessible. Overall, the project reflects careful attention to detail and an effective balance between audio and visual storytelling.
